General diagnostic assessments
Susan conducts non-medicolegal diagnostic assessments for investigation of neuropsychological and/or psychological/personality conditions.
Diagnostic testing typically takes 2-3 hours, with a concise report (including diagnosis and recommendations) provided to the referral. Feedback to the patient can be arranged, if required.
Diagnostic assessments are NOT fit for medicolegal purposes (e.g., a diagnostic neuropsychological report is not suitable to use in criminal and civil matters, fitness for duty opinions, etc.).
Telehealth assessments may be facilitated, provided the examinee is able to attend a suitable venue with appropriate support staff to maintain copyright integrity of the neuropsychological test materials. Please contact Susan for more information.
Referrals
Diagnostic neuropsychological assessments require a referral from a relevant health professional (e.g., general practitioner (GP), clinical psychologist, neurologist, geriatrician, psychiatrist, etc.).
Self-referrals are NOT accepted, although Susan is happy to discuss the neuropsychological process with potential patients.
Fees for diagnostic assessments
A basic neuropsychological assessment and short report for diagnostic purposes is $1,650 (GST inclusive). More complex cases may attract a higher fee.
Payment must be made prior to the commencement of the assessment. Payment can be made via EFTPOS on the day or by direct debit (payment must be confirmed prior to the day of the assessment).
Unfortunately, Medicare does not offer rebates for neuropsychological assessments. Please check with your private health insurer for rebate advice regarding neuropsychological assessments/testing (i.e., not psychological therapy).
